BREAKING: ECOWAS has ordered its standby force to restore constitutional order in Niger Republic! ECOWAS’ Omar Alieu Touray made the declaration earlier, at the ECOWAS extraordinary meeting in Abuja, today. The body  also called on African Union, AU, partner countries and institutions to support the resolution taken by ECOWAS (to restore constitutional order in Niger by force.) ECOWAS said all efforts made to dialogue with Niger Republic’s military junta have been “defiantly rejected by the coup leaders,” and that they condemn the continuous detention of the ousted former president of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum and his family members. Part of the ECOWAS resolution reads: “Direct the committee of the Chief of Defense Staff to activate the ECOWAS Stan-by force with all its elements immediately. “Order the deployment of the ECOWAS stand-by force to restore constitutional order in the Republic of Niger.” So, war is here and this is for real. God help the motherland.

Nigerian, Ivorian, and Beninese troops are currently making preparations to deploy more than 5,000 combat soldiers to the predetermined "Staging Areas" of the ECOWAS-Standby Force, following the directives of Chief of Defense Staff, Biague Nan Tam.

美国国务卿安东尼·布林肯表示，美国支持西非国家经济共同体就恢复尼日尔秩序采取行动。
布林肯表示："西非国家经济共同体在明确表达恢复宪法秩序的必要性方面发挥领导性作用。我们支持他们的工作和领导作用。”
西非经共体周四在尼日利亚阿布贾就尼日尔局势召开了紧急峰会。据报道，该组织指示国防参谋长委员会立即启动西共体待命部队及其全部人员，以恢复尼日尔的宪政秩序。科特迪瓦总统阿拉萨内·德拉马内·瓦塔拉称，地区领导人已同意尽快启动行动。
7月29日，非盟和平与安全理事会要求尼日尔政变军人于15日内恢复宪法当局。7月30日，西非经济国家共同体（西共体）要求政变军人一周内释放巴祖姆并恢复其总统职权，否则将采取 “一切必要措施” 恢复尼日尔宪法秩序且不排除使用武力。8月初，西非经共体国家通过了对尼日尔进行军事干预的应急计划。
