I watched the Tucker Carlson interview of Vladimir Putin in its entirety. I will yet have much more to say about it.
For now, I will only say that I consider it one of the most important interviews of a national leader in my lifetime.
I will also note that Putin exercised absolute dominion over the course and content of the interview.
Tucker Carlson is a formidable journalist and interviewer. He possesses an incisive intellect. All things considered, he acquitted himself fairly well during this interview — notwithstanding he was knocked back on his heels on several occasions.
But that is neither surprising, nor anything for him to be ashamed of.
He was well out of his league.
He was, comparatively speaking, an amateur fly-weight in the ring with a multi-generational-best heavy-weight champion.
When it comes to logical and concisely formulated arguments and rhetorical acumen, Carlson was outclassed by Putin by an order of magnitude.
That said, I cannot think of anyone else who would not have been similarly compelled to "shut up and listen".
Indeed, I cannot recall a single world leader of at least the past century who is in the same class as Putin.
It is little wonder that the mediocre intellects who currently occupy positions of leadership in the so-called "western democracies" are so viscerally hostile towards Putin and desperately desire to prevent their constituents from hearing what he has to say — for he exposes their abject mediocrity and their inexplicable geopolitical follies.
In any case, I will have more to say on this topic at a future point in time
